What We Grow
What kind of produce is grown?
This year we are planning on growing:Beets, Cabbage, Carrots, Cherry Tomatoes, Chives, Cilantro, Chinese Cabbage, Cucumbers, Edamome, Eggplant, Garlic, Beans(Green & Yellow), Herbs, Kale, Kohlrabi, Green Onions, Leeks, Lettuces, Melons, Okra, Peas, Sweet, Medium & Hot Peppers, Pie Pumpkins, Potatoes (Red,Kennebec & Fingerling), Radishes, Summer Squash, Sugar Snap Peas, Sweet Onions, Swiss Chard, Tomatoes (large variety including heirlooms), Tomatillos,Turnips, Winter Squash and Zucchini.
Look for many of the above to be grown in several different varieties and flavors. One example would be that we grow seven different varieties of eggplant. The season starts out with lighter crops such as lettuce and Swiss Chard, then in mid-season brings Onions and Cucumbers. Heavy crops such as Tomatoes, Peppers and Potatoes will balance out the season.
We do not use any synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. We use sustainable farming practices such as cover crops, crop rotation and compost. Instead of pesticides, bugs such as praying mantis's and other insects are around to handle the natural order of pest control. When sprays aren't used, the beneficial bugs take care of controlling insects and plant diseases.
